vanishing point… 12/18/12 …visual vacation

Last night, outside temperatures dipped to 5 degrees (fahrenheit) so inside condensation on the windows was frozen this morning… one of my favorite photographic subjects.  I’m fascinated by the interplay of water and light.  Surface reflections on droplets, bodies of water, ice crystals, light passing through fog… doesn’t matter, I’m taken by all of it.  It’s very easy to lose myself in the miniature world of a droplet… a meditation that temporarily removes me from the world at large.  After the tragic events at Sandy Hook this week, I needed a small escape from the harsh reality of current events.

For me, the images have abstract forms that gradually reveal themselves, maybe a little like reading tea leaves…
