Harney County Hijinks
or… This Land is Your Land, This Land is My Land
(author’s note: I began this article during the early stages of the Malheur occupation… it is now over a month later and some of the article has been updated to reflect events up to the point of the shooting of Robert LaVoy Finicum.)
Hege′lian dialec′tic, noun.
An interpretive method in which some assertible proposition (thesis) is necessarily opposed by an equally assertible and apparently contradictory proposition (antithesis), the contradiction being reconciled on a higher level of “truth” by a third proposition (synthesis). In the modern vernacular: problem, reaction, solution… more accurately: create sides to play against each other, the public will choose up, division will ensue, the deeper issues will be overlooked, and the secret agenda of the hidden hand can be furthered, all while satiating the public’s need for a “solution” to the contrived “problem”.
In yet another example of the Hegelian dialectic that we all are being beaten to death with every day, from every angle, the now infamous Bundy family arrived on scene in Harney County, uninvited, undesired and distanced by they very folks they claimed to be championing… a father and son convicted of arson on public lands to allegedly protect their home, increase graze for their cattle, and to cover a mass poaching party:
Where was Ammon Bundy, and the cries of outrage, for the Yantis ranching family last November? Doing lip service on the Pete Santilli show while the family of Jack Yantis, only two hundred miles from this current sideshow, suffered the ultimate sacrifice at the hands of overreaching law enforcement… the death of their patriarch. Jack Yantis was apparently murdered by two deputies after encountering them using his tame, hand raised pet bull for target practice… firing volleys of bullets into the downed beast, after it had been hit by a car and was allegedly charging emergency personnel, with a shattered hind leg. When Jack attempted to humanely put down his bull, with a rifle shot to the back of the head, he was assaulted by the deputies and shot to death. In the ensuing melee, Yantis’ wife and nephew would be handcuffed and thrown to the road while trying to go to Jack’s aid as he lay dying on the highway… his wife would suffer a heart attack during the ordeal:
Unlike the Bundy’s and the Hammond’s, Jack Yantis ran his cattle on private land. Purchased by the sweat of his own brow, Jack worked years for the money to buy his ranch. The Bundys and Hammonds, however, indulge in a practice known as Welfare Ranching, running their cattle on cheaply leased public lands, while owning substantial private land. With the Jack Yantis killing occurring in the midst of the Michael Brown shooting spectacle in Ferguson, why was there no one to champion a rancher shot to death by a deputy with a history of aggressive behavior… or to question possible underlying motives or the incompetence and inappropriate behavior of the deputies? Could it be that the case did not contain the appropriate elements by which to manipulate public opinion, in spite of the lethal abuse of Jack Yantis’ rights? Or, was Jack simply not an insider within the current, hidden hand, power construct?
The Mormon/Mason connection between the Bundys, Robert LaVoy Finicum and the Malheur Refuge area should not be ignored. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mormonism_and_Freemasonry and http://www.deseretnews.com/article/695265549/A-Mormon-Mason-New-grand-master-is-the-first-in-a-century-who-is-LDS.html?pg=all) Is it a coincidence that the Bundys and LaVoy Finicum, allegedly murdered at the hands of possible mercenary agents posing as FBI, are Mormon? How convenient that LaVoy has been groomed for the past two years to pull on the heartstrings of our Americana spirit… author, videographer, spokesman for the free range lifestyle of the New American Cowboy. What an admirable and tragic figure he now poses, in the true, all American, way of the Hollywood Western… replete with mounted, flag bearing, riders. What a load of horse shit. Here are just a few observations regarding the “murder” of Robert “LaVoy” Finicum: 1) The “roadblock” was apparently set up quite some time before the event, as evidenced by vehicle tracks leading into the trees from which snipers poured forth after the shooting. 2) LaVoy showed no evidence of being impacted by bullets during the shooting, as well as no noticeable gun recoil in the hands of the shooters. 3) A distinct lack of blood, which should have been obvious in the white snow, during and after the event. 4) Shawna Cox, a passenger in the vehicle with Lavoy, states in an early interview that she was “almost positive he had a bulletproof vest on” during the shooting (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svd9qCQzxdU @ 1:58). 5) Where is the rest of the video evidence? One aerial video is all there is? Really? No dash cams, body cams, audio, etc.? 6) If the rounds used were indeed “live” why were the snipers indulging in crossfire, and why were there no injuries or officers responding to the crossfire by ducking out of harms way?
Those behind the Bundys were seemingly just waiting for the perfect opportunity to “make a stand” and, what better place than a remote wildlife refuge in the very sparsely populated, largest county in Oregon. Surrounded by public lands, with a military bombing range AND the Christmas Valley OTH radar facility not far away, could they have chosen a better, more controllable location? I doubt it. And how about that timing? While Ammon guested on Santilli’s show in early November, to lay the Hammond ground work (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1BYIPFcrwI), the actual siege of the wildlife refuge facility would not occur until Obama stepped up to the plate with his Executive Privilege gun control move. Though it came off as a big fizzle, with most folks seeing the logic of background checks to keep guns out of the hands of the mentally unstable, it actually was a step toward laying the groundwork for “the state” to determine who is competent to own a firearm, and who isn’t. Since the American Psychiatric Association has been busily recategorizing who is considered mentally ill (people who prefer not to eat processed, GMO laden food can be classified under the Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, for example… http://www.dsm5.org/documents/changes%20from%20dsm-iv-tr%20to%20dsm-5.pdf), this should scare the bejeezus out of gun owners and non gun owners alike. This is just one of many baby steps being taken to stealthily remove your right to bear arms and/or protect yourself from the state or anyone else who chooses to take your property, freedom or life.
That the Bundy group showed up on the Malhuer Wildlife Refuge just a day or two BEFORE Obama decided to throw his weight around should be a huge red flag that they had inside info. Bear in mind that the Hammonds have been embroiled in this particular legal battle for 16 years. Where were the Bundys for the past two years of that time? Twiddling their thumbs in yet another Oregon location… a mining claim on leased public land with legal issues. That all three of these events have occurred on publicly owned land, in the wilder regions of the US, should be a clue about who’s behind it and what the agenda is. While the Oregon mining claim may not be in as sparsely populated a zone as the two ranch conflicts, it certainly is in an area where hearty souls can easily disappear into the woods. On the surface, this is about land access and gun control, but there is much more at stake and it’s being brought to bear covertly by the powers behind our US federal government.
If you do not suspect hanky-panky between some of the folks within the Bundy group and officials, you should know this: according to statements, from several sources, the Bundy group gained access to the Wildlife Refuge building not by breaking and entering, but because they just happened to find KEYS laying around, so they let themselves in. Right. The only thing in this region that is locked up tighter than Hillary’s ass, is a closed government installation on remote public lands… as was the Malhuer Wildlife Refuge building at the time of the occupation. Keys aren’t just left laying around. If any keys were left on site, it would for emergency purposes and they would not be “just laying” around. If such keys were to be found, it would require inside information as to their location. In all my years in this part of the country (nearly 50), I have never encountered or heard of such a thing. If so much were not potentially hanging on the outcome of this situation, the KEY story would be laughable. I’m sorry, but this stinks to high heaven of collusion between entities within the Bundy group and the feds. And how about that lineup of media satellite trucks, present from day one? Burns isn’t exactly the most convenient location to get to quickly, sitting in the midst of what could be considered the Oregon Outback, on a lonely stretch of desert highway, several driving hours from any large city. This has been PR’ed from the git go, and, well before the fact. Many of the parties involved, including the feds, seem to have prior knowledge of what is to transpire.
Is this more than an issue of public land use? Is the Hammond scenario a potential land grab by the government or special interests? Maybe… so what else is new? Is it yet another excuse for gun control as well? Was it an accident that this happened at the same time that Obama was exercising executive privilege on gun rights? That the Bundy crew has been plotting this event for at least several months, as per the Santilli show of November 12, is obvious. Pretty amazing timing to line it up with Obama’s move nearly two months later. Could it be the Bundys are yet another example of a compromised individual or group intentionally used, knowingly or otherwise, to ultimately get guns out of the hands of the American public? Early in the occupation, regional news out of Boise showed a video clip of Ammon Bundy’s gloved hands provocatively poised above his weapons with twitchy trigger fingers. Apparently the Southern Nevada Standoff didn’t accomplish the intended effect, nor did the Oregon Mine Standoff… must have been an irresistible opportunity when the gaze of the puppet masters fell to this case, stemming from over a decade of federal land offenses resulting in convictions that did not meet minimum sentencing. It was certainly a miscarriage of justice to give the Hammonds a light sentence only to rescind it three years later to enforce a longer one. I guess a compassionate and sensible sentence wasn’t evocative enough to justify having a group of “patriots” lay siege to government facilities. Better ramp it up some via the Oregon judicial system… can you say “collusion” boys and girls? Welcome to Mr. Fed’s neighborhood. Perhaps the real question should be: What lies beneath the alleged land grabs and well publicized gun brandishing? The Hegelian dialectic? More to the point, divide and conquer by provoking a civil war that pits your enemies against each other. This has the potential to eliminate countless Americans without the actual provocateurs having to get their hands dirty or risk becoming casualties in the violence they are provoking.
Despite the romanticized version of cattle ranching put forth by old Hollywood westerns and the Bundys, as someone who has personally witnessed the devastation caused by running cattle on the fragile ecosystems of this arid region, I can attest to the inappropriate practices and resulting damage caused by many large scale ranchers. I can also attest to the incredible, austere beauty of this region, which belongs to EVERY AMERICAN… to recreate on and enjoy at their leisure and pleasure.
The following short videos lend a view of this desert “wasteland” as Stefen Molyneux idiotically puts it (thanks for the clue about how to tell who is for real and who is yanking our chain, Stevo… your NLP is showing):
The first two videos are Idaho portions of this vast region… separated only by invisible state lines.
Yes, I do know from personal experience how some ranchers respond when they find someone on “their” public land. Many respect only their ranching reality, not your access rights. Having been directly involved with cattle ranching on public lands, on both sides of the fence, I have a pretty good perspective of what goes down between the consenting parties of the ranchers and the BLM (Bureau of Land Management). The BLM has a history of ignoring environmental impacts unless it suits them. Too many ranchers have a history of ignoring environmental impacts, period. Ammon Bundy calls himself a responsible steward of the land. That remains to be seen. If his idea of responsible stewardship involves sustainable ranching, i.e. his monetary bottom line regardless of the impact on the balance of nature and the countless lives it supports, including yours and mine, then I beg to differ.
Would you think it was OK if someone vandalized your favorite park or turned it into their own personal sewer? Most people whine about goose poop on the grass… try avoiding copious cow crap in and along streams in fragile riparian zones so devastated they can no longer support the wildlife that SHOULD be there, or dealing with the Giardia parasite you just ingested while drinking from a crystalline high mountain stream in the local national wilderness area… introduced years ago by the cattle and sheep that have been run there for decades, generating funds cozily tucked away into the back pocket of the BLM and/or Forest Service. Too many believe responsible stewardship means keeping the land sustainable for cattle ranching, or logging, or mining, regardless of impacts on nature and the big picture. In that belief, they become easy pawns of the American Corporatocracy, constantly furthering the concept that money is more important than the land it is derived from, never mind the finite reality of our resources… or the loss of our only life support system, the biosphere. This is economics versus a life sustaining planet… which do YOU think is more important?
That the land in question is a desert, doesn’t mean it isn’t an integral part of Earth’s web of life… and the undeniable fact is, no nature, no humans. For too many large scale ranchers it’s only about the money provided by their chosen profession… proffering the destruction of public wildlands in support of the meatpacking industry and at the cost of irreplaceable natural beauty, harmony and balance. Counterintuitive as it may seem, running cattle on huge swaths of public land is just another form of industrialized food production. Sure, it’s fun to encounter some drovers moving a herd across a backroad in the high desert west, but did you ever think about what happens after the double-decker semi trucks show up for those cattle in the autumn? It ceases to have any romanticism whatsoever, becoming a dark, cramped, terrifying, feces and urine ridden ride to the stockyards and slaughterhouses, where the trauma of those animals last moments on Earth reaches a horrifying apex.
There is a deeper, underlying current to this contrived event at the Malhuer Wildlife Refuge. This is not about a handful of rancher’s whose rights are allegedly being abused. What about Jack Yantis’ rights? And what about all Americans rights to the public lands? Not only have I experienced inappropriate behavior by some ranchers, I also know how restrictive the laws governing visitors to our public lands have become over the years. There is, most certainly, another land grab in progress… but it has been going on for decades and is about OUR right to be on the land, period. Not to sell it, abuse it, or use it as a cash cow, but to simply enjoy it and to live sustainably upon it, in balance with nature. That right has been eroded away, day by day, year by year, and no one seems to have noticed or cared. Recently, the demonization of the word “sustainability” has become quite popular… this is pure manipulation and a pretty good indicator regarding the true intent of those trying to convince you that sustainability is just another way to further Agenda 21 or it’s progeny. Agenda 21, and those who claim to oppose it, are just two sides of the same petro-industry, Hegelian dialectic, coin. Make no mistake, we are being worked from all sides for the sake of big business… the ranchers, miners, loggers et al, are merely pawns in the game.
The open lands of the West present too much of an opportunity for off-griders when the SHTF… anyone who lives in these parts and spends time in the outdoors knows easy access to public lands has been quietly on the chopping block for decades. And, there is more than natural beauty at stake. With the pending collapse of the economy, and probably everything else, it is likely that many “refugees” will attempt to find haven on the wild public lands of the American West. The reality is that most will be ill equipped to deal with the harsh environment here and many will perish… and that’s not even taking into consideration the fact that ecosystems throughout the American West are, and have been, crashing to the extent that they no longer provide sustenance for the creatures that dwell there, much less an ill informed survivalist. Nonetheless, there are those who would be able to survive the extreme conditions of the high desert, even in a depleted state. In the eyes of government, these people are the real threat to be guarded against… the survivors. As we approach the ultimate tipping point of industrialization versus nature, the PTB have determined that we should be prevented access, by hook or by crook, regardless of our awareness of the necessary checks and balances needed to preserve a sustainable presence on wild land. In my opinion, if you cannot or will not learn to live in balance with the natural way of wilderness, then get the hell out. And that includes the BLM, Welfare Ranchers, Special Interests and anyone else who desecrates nature for money, power or control. While this may or may not be a land grab by special and/or government interests, it is certainly an assault on your rights to public lands.
Just to be clear, this is not a rant against law enforcement. Granted, there are too many in law enforcement whose behavior is questionable, illegal and even lethal but, I prefer to believe they are the minority. I wouldn’t trade the law enforcement in my tiny community for a million bucks… I know how lucky we are to have them. Like the folks in Burns, we are a tight knit community who only want the best for our citizenry. Communities throughout America would do well to cultivate beneficial relationships with their local gendarme, rather than alienate them.
Nor is this a rant against ranchers… while I do not approve of the practices of the vast majority of large scale ranchers who run their cattle on public lands, I realize they cannot all be covered by one blanket statement regarding their integrity toward that land. I can only hope that, like any other aspect of the human reality, there are participants truly seeking the best path forward for all. While it’s hard to imagine that large scale ranching could find a way not to degrade the environment, especially one so fragile as this high desert, I recognize the right of individuals to pursue their chosen path… as long as it is not detrimental to the greater good. Wouldn’t it be better to support the rights of small mom and pop ranchers to graze their own land, with the opportunity and inspiration to incorporate truly sustainable ranching practices, than to run off half-cocked in support of industrial style ranching, or mining, or other environmentally contentious practices (logging, for ex.) on public assets?
Ultimately, this is not about ranchers or local law enforcement. This is about the perspectives of Americans being manipulated for the sake of specific outcomes. In this case it appears to be guns and land use, with a more covert agenda of division and unrest… the intent being to provoke a conflict that could potentially ultimately result in civil war. The next time a Bundy type persona, replete with agent provocateurs like Blaine Cooper (aka Stanley Blaine Hicks) and Ryan Payne, or the barking chihuahua Pete Santilli, pop up armed and uninvited, to stir up trouble under the guise of protecting the public’s rights, you might want to think about the risk their locked and loaded behavior poses to your right to protect the very freedoms they so arrogantly claim to be defending, but are actually destroying. And, you might want to remind yourself that you are being played, with the intent of eliminating any and all threats to the draconian system of mass control we are being manipulated into. The America we once knew is riding off into the sunset and taking any semblance of freedom with it, while most of us sit complacently by, eagerly consuming the dog and pony shows they endlessly feed us.
If it seems that I am taking potshots at almost everyone… you are almost correct. I stand with those who have no agenda other than truth and integrity, those who recognize that the rights of ALL Americans, as well as every human on the face of this Earth, are being eroded by a Corporatocracy that controls governments around the world. We would be wise not to choose sides too quickly or easily, if at all. There are many snakes in the grass, as evidenced by the cadre of so called YouTube truthers who have jumped on the Malheur Reserve bandwagon, with nary a clue of which they speak… just so much more smoke and mirrors. Those same rabble rousers will abandon you in a heartbeat when the dire reality of collapse, which is rapidly approaching, rears it’s ugly head. From global climate engineering, to GMOs, vaccines, fluoride, fracking, nukes and beyond, we are being plundered and pillaged by a corporate military industrial machine that is evil beyond description. America is just the tip of the iceberg… the entire world is in the clutches of the psychopaths who run the global machine. If we do not, as individuals, rise and speak out NOW, there will be nothing left to speak out for.
Standing with those who, in the pursuit of truth and integrity, have the courage to stand alone.
